CBS Allotments started in April 2010. They were started in a new green field site, which initially houses 33 allotments with provision for another 100 or so as the need arises. The allotment site has a locked gated entrance for added security. With the emphasis currently on growing your own fresh fruit and vegetables the demand for allotments has never been higher. There is a great camaraderie amongst allotment holders which as much satisfaction being gleaned from the craic as from the friendships formed.

CBS Allotments are approximately 108m2, fenced on 3 sides (open fronted) with water supply available. There are toilet facilities on site and picnic tables to allow you to enjoy your home-grown produce. The allotment year runs from April until March and the cost is £220 per year with the minimum rental being one year. The first year incurs a £75 one off fee for fencing and amenities. There is also a £20 deposit payable for the keys to the entrance gate, which is fully refundable on termination of the allotment use. Allotment holders may erect a garden shed or greenhouse on their site (no poly tunnels are allowed).

All allotment holders are given a Discount Card for use at Carryduff Building Supplies. This allows discounted prices on any products bought at CBS.
